About coaching ...
In the 1500’s, the word “coach” was first used to refer to a kind of carriage. This led to the root meaning of the verb “to coach”: to convey a valued person from where they are to where they want to be. 1
In practice today, a life coach partners with you to:
- Solve your problems
- Reach your goals
- Design action plans
- Make decisions
- Focus on your unique needs and values
- Discover what makes your heart sing
- Act on your ideas, working through any changes or obstacles
- Maintain a healthy balance between your personal and professional life
- Look ahead to take advantage of fresh opportunities
How does it work?
Through weekly coaching sessions, I focus on you and work with you to identify what is truly important to you in your life. I listen, ask powerful questions, draw attention to new “viewing points”, and offer insights. You will gain the ability to identify and deal with the roadblocks that hold you back from following your heart. As a coach I add focus, structure, tools, and support to help you discover and grow into your goals.
How does coaching relate to other disciplines?
Coaching is not therapy, counseling, or psychology, which deal with past events and how they relate to your thoughts and feelings in the present. Coaching focuses on the present and future and is oriented towards you setting your own goals and moving forward.
My Coaching Model ...
I base my coaching on the idea that each of us has unique desires and abilites, and that growth will always happens when they're supported by our faith. I start by helping you uncover your true desires, which often yields surprising results! Pairing those desires with your natural abilities, learning new ones, and building up your faith ... yields growth, achievement, and satisfaction.
